Savaya Coffee Market

Burc makes Coffee at Savaya in Tucson AZ

The proprietor of this local Tucson coffee shop worked as a wholesale importer of coffee beans for a number of years before opening his own boutique coffee roasting business. His history within the coffee trade gives him valuable insight into the all aspects of coffee production, from farm to consumer.

The Foxtie team discovered the small shop soon after it opened in 2009. We were impressed with the quality and variety of coffees offered, as well as the overwhelming knowledge of the staff. As is often the case, Foxtie approached Savaya Coffee Market with a proposal to take over their internet and print marketing. We always find it rewarding to work with clients who have a passion and integrity that matches our own, and we immediately recognized that the excellence inherent in the Savaya brand would complement our ideals.

The Challenge

Savaya Coffee Market PhotoshootSavaya Coffee Market was named “Best of the City 2009″ by Tucson Lifestyle magazine, despite having been open for less than a year. To promote this achievement, the owner took out several full page ads in Tucson Lifestyle Magazine to appear in its December, January, and February issues.

Savaya Coffee Market Photoshoot for WebsiteThe ads needed to contain a call to action to visit the shop’s website, however Savaya Coffee Market’s website consisted of little more than a phone and address listing. Foxtie was asked to conceptualize and design the magazine ads and simultaneously design and build a scalable website that would reflect and expand upon Savaya Coffee Market’s current identity.

The Solution

Tucson Lifestyle Ad | December 2009Foxtie’s first advertisement for Savaya Coffee Market commemorated the “Best of the City 2009″ award from Tucson Lifestyle Magazine. The photography, and layout were completed in house with remarkable results.

Savaya Website DesignThe second advertisement featured baklava from the owner’s native country of Turkey. The ad was so successful that Savaya Coffee Market actually sold out of all their baklava during the holiday season and had to place customers on a waiting list.

Tucson Lifestyle Ad | January 2010Savaya Coffee Market’s website reflected the owner’s minimalist attitude toward design. The logo and beans were featured predominately to emphasize that the shop is primarily a roaster and only secondarily a shop which serves brewed coffee. Education is important to the owner of Savaya Coffee Market and this is reflected in the site’s focus on class schedule and detailed world map interface. The client expressed an interest in adding online shopping at a later date. Our sophisticated content management system allows us to easily integrate e-commerce at any point.
